*This tour starts in Baku, Azerbaijan and ends in Tbilisi, Georgia
Welcome to the beautiful and culturally rich countries of Azerbaijan and Georgia! We are excited to announce that we are taking a group of women on a tour of these two stunning destinations. From the bustling city of Baku to the charming town of Sheki, and from the vibrant capital of Tbilisi to the tranquil town of Borjomi, this trip is packed with unforgettable experiences.
Our journey begins in Baku, where we will take a walking tour of the Old City. As we stroll through the narrow streets, we will be transported back in time to the medieval era. We will also have the chance to explore local markets and bazaars, where we can immerse ourselves in the vibrant culture and try some delicious local delicacies.
Next, we will head to the Absheron Peninsula, known for its stunning landscapes and historical sites. One of the highlights of this trip will be our visit to the Fire Worshippers Temple, a sacred site for the Zoroastrian religion. We will learn about the fascinating history and traditions of this ancient religion.
In Sheki, we will be treated to a sightseeing tour of this charming town. But that’s not all – we will also have the opportunity to participate in some unique classes. We will learn how to make yogurt, Sheki halva (a local sweet), and even try our hand at making traditional bread. These classes will give us a taste of the local culture and traditions.
Our journey continues to Tbilisi, the capital of Georgia. Here, we will take a city tour and discover the hidden gems of this vibrant city. And what better way to experience the culture of Georgia than by tasting their famous wines? We will have the chance to sample some of the best wines in the region and learn about the winemaking process.
But the fun doesn’t stop there – we will also have the opportunity to participate in cooking classes, enamel jewellery making, and stained glass classes. These activities will allow us to unleash our creativity and learn new skills from local artisans.
Our trip will also take us to the town of Borjomi, where we will stay at the lovely Golden Tulip Hotel. Here, we will have the chance to relax and rejuvenate in the famous Borjomi Hot Springs. The mineral-rich waters are known for their healing properties and will leave us feeling refreshed and rejuvenated.
We will also take a walk through Mtskheta’s Old Town, a UNESCO World Heritage Site. This ancient town is filled with historical monuments and stunning architecture. And no trip to Georgia is complete without a visit to Uplistsikhe, the most ancient caves in the country. We will explore these fascinating caves and learn about their significance in Georgian history.
We are thrilled to offer this unique and exciting tour for women who are looking to explore new cultures, make new friends, and create unforgettable memories.
So join us on this journey through Azerbaijan and Georgia, and let’s make this trip one to remember!
Oh the places we'll go ......
Baku, the capital of the Republic of Azerbaijan, is located on the West coast of the Caspian Sea. Its neighbors are Iran on the south, Armenia on the west, Georgia on the northwest and Russia on the north. Baku, the largest city in Azerbaijan, sits on the Caspian Sea and serves as a significant cultural, economic, and political hub. The city boasts a rich history and culture, with human settlements dating back to the 4th millennium BCE. Today, Baku is a modern and lively city, renowned for its magnificent architecture, picturesque parks, and bustling streets.
Situated near the Georgia-Azerbaijan border lies the city of Sheki, often the last stop in a typical small group tour of the Caucasus. It is one of Azerbaijan’s oldest cities and was once a critical point on the historic Silk Road. During the 19th century, Sheki served as the main hub for silk production in the Caucasus region, a tradition that continues to thrive to this day.
Tbilisi, one of Europe’s oldest capitals, has served as the cultural, political, and economic hub of Georgia for over fifteen centuries. The city’s rich cultural heritage and stunning natural landscapes are just a few of the many features that make it stand out. Visitors can witness waterfalls, lakes, and breathtaking views of the surrounding countryside. Additionally, Tbilisi boasts wine cellars and bodegas that showcase natural wines from all over Georgia.
The city’s diverse culture is another aspect that makes it so appealing. You can explore the Bronze Age settlement, medieval temples, and fortresses that have stood up against numerous battles.
Borjomi, a small town located in the Samtskhe-Javakheti region of Georgia, is renowned for its mineral water springs. However, it offers much more than just its iconic mineral water. Borjomi is a stunning town situated in the picturesque Borjomi gorge, featuring lush greenery, rivers, waterfalls, dense forests and alpine meadows.
The best part? It’s small enough to explore in a single day. Most attractions, hotels, and restaurants are located in the center, making it easy for travelers to explore on foot.
