Amritsar, city, northern Punjab state, northwestern India. At the heart of Amritsar lies the holiest shrine of Sikhism, the magnificent Golden Temple, or Harmandir Sahib. Its resplendent golden façade glistens in the sunlight, symbolizing spiritual enlightenment and equality.
Beyond its cultural landmarks, Amritsar is also a thriving center of commerce and industry, with bustling markets, modern amenities, and a burgeoning entrepreneurial spirit.
Kangra is a stunning district in Himachal Pradesh, nestled in the foothills of the Dhauladhar range of the Himalayas. It’s often called the “Land of Gods” due to its abundance of ancient temples and spiritual sites. The Kangra Fort, one of India’s oldest and largest forts, stands as a testament to its rich past. It has witnessed invasions by Mughals, Sikhs, and even survived a siege by Emperor Akbar. The Masroor Rock-Cut Temples of the 8th-century are monolithic temples carved from sandstone, often compared to Ajanta and Ellora.
This charming town, located in the Kangra district of Himachal Pradesh, is also known as “Little Lhasa” due to its large population of Tibetan refugees. The serene atmosphere, breathtaking views of the Himalayas, and the strong influence of Tibetan culture make Mcleod Ganj a must-visit destination. You can explore the colorful markets, visit the famous Namgyal Monastery, and even attend a meditation session at one of the many Buddhist temples. Trust me, you don’t want to miss out on this gem of a place. Can’t wait to experience the magic of Mcleod Ganj with our group!

Nestled in the picturesque hills of Himachal Pradesh, lies the charming town of Andretta. This quaint little town is a hidden gem, waiting to be explored by travelers seeking a peaceful and authentic experience.
Andretta is known for its rich cultural heritage, with a strong influence of the Kangra Valley’s traditional arts and crafts. The town is home to a thriving artist community, with many renowned painters, potters, and sculptors residing here. Visitors can witness these artists at work and even take part in workshops to learn their craft.

The Norbulingka Institute, located in Sidhpur near Dharamshala in Himachal Pradesh, is a serene cultural centre dedicated to preserving Tibetan art, literature, and traditions. Founded in 1995 and named after the Dalai Lama’s summer palace in Lhasa, the institute serves as a sanctuary for Tibetan heritage in exile. Its beautifully landscaped gardens, Japanese-inspired architecture, and vibrant prayer flags create a tranquil environment where visitors can witness artisans practising traditional crafts such as Thangka painting, woodcarving, sculpture, and appliqué. Norbulingka also offers workshops, guided tours, and houses the Seat of Happiness Temple, adorned with stunning murals and frescoes. Beyond being a tourist attraction, it provides employment and education for Tibetans, ensuring the continuity of centuries-old cultural practices while promoting sustainability and community development.

After you arrive to Delhi airport fly to Varanasi, the most holy city in all of India.
Varanasi is the India of your imagination. One of the most colourful and fascinating places on earth, surprises abound around every corner. This is one of the world’s oldest continually inhabited cities, and one of the holiest in Hinduism. Pilgrims come to the ghats lining the Ganges to wash away sins in the sacred waters or to cremate their loved ones. It’s a particularly auspicious place to die, since expiring here offers moksha (liberation from the cycle of rebirth).
Most visitors agree Varanasi is magical – but not for the faint-hearted. Intimate rituals of life and death take place in public, and the sights, sounds and smells on the ghats – not to mention almost constant attention from touts – can be intense. Still, the so-called City of Light may turn out to be your favourite stop of all. Walking the ghats and alleyways or watching funeral pyres from a boat can be unforgettable. Varanasi is the ultimate culmination of India, of all experiences rolled into one.
This afternoon take some down time at the hotel before jumping into the fray tomorrow.
