Cairo/Aswan/Nile River/Luxor/Cairo

From the timeless gaze of the Sphinx to the majestic rise of the Pyramids against the desert sky, imagine stepping into the Land of the Pharaohs and surrendering to the spellbinding mystery of evocative Egypt, guided every step of the way by our expert Egyptologist.

Picture yourself drifting along the Nile aboard our elegant riverboat, the warm breeze brushing your skin as you sip fragrant mint tea and for a moment you wonderβ€”is this how Cleopatra felt as she glided down this very river?

Feel the energy of Cairo’s bustling souks wrap around you in a tapestry of colour and scent. Wander past stalls overflowing with handwoven cotton, delicate alabaster, shimmering jewellery, and treasures crafted by artisans whose skills have been passed down through generations. Step into a traditional perfumery, where you’ll learn the ancient art of blending healing oils from herbs and flowersβ€”an indulgence you’ll carry home with you.

Walk with us through Egypt’s most iconic ancient wonders: the Valley of the Kings, King Tutankhamun’s Tomb, and the awe‑inspiring Temple of Karnak. Each step draws you deeper into a world you’ve only ever dreamed ofβ€”a world of myth, majesty, and magic.

We’ve curated the ultimate Egyptian journey; a once‑in‑a‑lifetime experience designed not only to enchant you during your travels, but to stay with you long after you’ve returned home. This is Egypt as few ever experience itβ€”intimate, soulful, and utterly unforgettable.

"Enchanting it was thanks to Tammie and Vibrant Women!. From the wonderful and diverse accommodation. The guides that kept us so much entertained and enlightened by so much history.
I loved every minute, vitising the temples and tombs, museums and even the rattly train, to then board our beautiful riverboat on the Nile. So well organised and even thought the days were full, Tammie arranges necessary time for all to relax. Without hesitation I would recommend Vibrant Women Travel to anyone wanting an adventure without the stress. Thank you Tammie once again.

"What I experienced on my holiday with "Vibrant Women"was beyond my expectations.
Tammie was kind, generous, calm, organised, knowledgeable, with a great sense of humour, (had us in tears laughing).
We had comfortable accommodation and a delicious choise of restaurants every day.
It was the most amazing trip and I highly recommend.
I had the best time ever and am planning on joining Tammie on another adventure soon! "

Flights usually around $2000AUD return approx.Β

We have both single and twinshare rooms available. The single room has the supplement included. If you choose twinshare and are not travelling with aΒ  friend we will do our best to find you a roommate however in the event noone else is seeking a twinshare roommate then the single room rate will apply. We hope you understand. *Please note that snorers, smokers or people who wear CPAP machines when sleeping must disclose this when booking as this could impact other peoples sleep and they need to be aware of this. **Also please note we cannot guarantee compatibility of roommates, for example you may be of different ages or nationalities, however mostly when we do match people up they get on well and its only for a short period of time. Some people have even made lifelong friendships.

Our groups are usually between 6 and 12 participants. These are ideal numbers as they are small enough to be manageable and intimate but large enough for diversity and fun!

All Egyptian meals start with β€œsalads” which we might call dips – baba ganoush, hummus, tahini with pita bread and olives, yum! Then its pretty mush a meat, chicken and fish fest, flame grilled kebabs or you can have a tagine. Some of the yummy local food include koshari made with rice and legumes and kebabs, no need to wait until 3am in the morning these are a delicious snack for all hours. Sweets are very sweet and often fragrant. During the Nile Cruise all meals are included and are buffet style so plenty of selection.Β

*Please note on these tours we are unable to accommodate complex dietary requirements or allergies. We have tried to in the past however local people do not understand the requirements and we don’t want to be responsible for people being unwell and we just can’t guarantee that the kitchens will get it right. I have to say meat eaters find it easier and have more variety than vegetarians in Egypt as they are predominantly a meat eating country. On most menus you can also find pasta and soups, unfortunately fresh salads are rare as these vegetables cannot be grown locally. *Only drink bottled water

Yes you do require a visa which at the moment is $25USD (please bring this in cash with you in $USD currency) and we purchase it at the airport on arrival, it is super easy. You do also require a passport valid for more than 6 months and a return or exiting plane ticket.

You will require a flight from Amman to Cairo on the 10th of April 2027. We will provide you with details of which flight to book 6 month in advance. Flight costs are approx. $400 AUD.

Our rates do not include any kind of travel insurance and each guest must make sure to arrange his own necessary insurance prior arrival to Jordan. Yes but in the very best way. Egypt is extremely old, beautiful and full of history. The people are predominately Arabs and very friendly. There are however lots of hawkers or touts which can become tiresome. Always remain polite and respectful and your trip should be a pleasant one. Like most Muslim countries you will see a lot more men than women, as women are predominantly at home. Egypt is a modern, cosmopolitan country in many ways and people really want to encourage tourists and do their best to accommodate us. *Please wear appropriate clothing for a Muslim country ie cover shoulders and knees.

🌞 Weather in April

April is a beautiful time to visit Egypt β€” warm, sunny days and mild evenings.

Daytime temperatures: approx. 24–32Β°C

Evenings: cooler, especially on the Nile (15–20Β°C)

Sun: strong β€” hats, sunglasses & sunscreen are essential

Light layers are key so you stay cool by day and comfortable at night.

πŸ‘— Clothing – What to Wear

Egypt is modern yet culturally conservative. Dressing respectfully also helps reduce unwanted attention.

Recommended for women:

Lightweight trousers, linen pants, or long skirts

Maxi dresses or loose midi dresses

Tops covering shoulders and cleavage

Light scarf or shawl (very useful for sites, sun & breeze)

Comfortable walking shoes or trainers

Sandals for evenings and Nile Cruise life

At temples & mosques:

Shoulders and knees covered

A scarf is perfect for quick coverage

πŸ’‘ You do not need to cover your hair except when entering mosques.

Bring:

Hand sanitiser

Personal medications

Sunscreen & lip balm

Electrolyte sachets (very helpful in warm weather)

πŸ’° Currency & Payments

Local currency: Egyptian Pound (EGP)

ATMs are widely available in cities and hotels

Credit cards accepted in hotels, cruise boats & larger shops

Carry small EGP notes (10–50 EGP) for tips and markets

πŸ’‘ USD & EUR are accepted in some places, but EGP is best for daily use.

Well, that depends on your shopping habits! You will need to allocate around $20 per meal lunches and dinners and then add on extra for personal spending. Alcohol is always more expensive in countries where people don’t drink and is taxed highly. I tell people to bring around $500USD to change on arrival to Cairo, you can do this at the airport or our hotel. Then bring a credit card for the other larger spending and you can also use ATM’s. *PLEASE NOTE YOU CANNOT EXCHANGE $AUD When you ask they just smile and say no – like no one wants our money ! Hee hee one guy said to me once, “not worth anything” you’re telling me I felt like saying πŸ˜‰

Yep, you sure can. We can arrange extra nights and airport transfers for you just discuss with us. **People not heading on from Jordan may need to arrive a day early if they can not arrive by around 11am on the 10th of April. Additional night pre tour room prices are $250 per person per room twinshare and $450 for a single room.Β

For post tour accommodation the price is $115 Twinshare per person per room and $200 AUD for a single room.Β

Our dedicated Travel Manager Kerstin can also help you, please see above “Arranging Flights”.Β

🌍 Culture & Customs

Egyptians are warm, friendly, and welcoming

Greetings are important β€” a smile goes a long way

Public affection is minimal; best avoided

Photography is usually allowed, but always ask before photographing people

As a women’s group, you’ll find Egypt very social β€” curiosity is common, but disrespect is not the norm.

Egypt uses Type C,Β Type D, andΒ Type FΒ power plugs, with a standard voltage ofΒ 230VΒ and frequencyΒ 50Hz. Type C and F are the same two‑round‑pin European style, while Type D uses three large round pins (less common, but still present in some hotels or older buildings). Most travelers bring aΒ universal travel adapterΒ to ensure compatibility across all socket types.

The train is overnight and takes 12 hours and is bumpy and included, also includes dinner and breakfast. Flying costs $250AUD for a twinshare room per person and $300 for a single room. This includes flight and extra nights accommodation and breakfast.Yes, I think that is a great idea.

Great! You can just complete the registration form on the link above. The deposit is $500AUD, this is because we need to book flights, accommodation and pay deposits for transport, guides etc., well in advance.Β  50%Β  of the remainder is paid in an installment 6 months before the start of the trip and the remainder is to be paid 75 days prior to the start of the tour. Our payment system is automated and once you book you will have a manage booking log in where you can make additional payments at any time.Β

A moderate level of fitness is required to enjoy all the sites we visit. Some of the days we are out and about all day you do need to be able to walk up to 7km a day. We cannot unfortunately have women travel with us who require assistance to walk, for example if you use a walking stick you will not be able to enjoy to many of the sites we visit as they are large and can only been seen by walking.Β

The train is overnight and takes 12 hours and is bumpy and included, also includes dinner and breakfast. When you arrive to Aswan at around 8am in the morning you will go straight to Philae Temple as check to the boat is after 2pm so please keep this in mind.Β  We have arranged a single berth for everyone even twishare people as we dont think anyone wants to try the top bunk : ) In your cabin is a small sink and somewhere to charge your phone. I dont think there is WiFi.

Flying costs $250AUD for a twinshare room per person and $300 for a single room. This includes flight and extra nights accommodation and breakfast.
