Mae Fah Luang Gardens, also known as the Princess Mother Gardens, are located in the Doi Tung mountain range in Chiang Rai. These beautifully landscaped gardens were established by Princess Srinagarindra, the mother of Thailand’s late King Bhumibol Adulyadej (Rama IX). The gardens were created to provide local villagers with job opportunities and to transform the area, which was once part of the opium trade, into a thriving tourist attraction. The gardens feature a stunning array of flowers and plants, and visitors can also explore the nearby Doi Tung Tree Top Walk.
